According to the Npower and CitiBank report “Breaking Through and Rising Up,” women of color make up less than 10 percent of the computing workforce in the United States.
Women of color represent 33 percent of women in the workforce, which makes them underrepresented in the computing field. Overall, women account for 47 percent of all employed adults in the country, but they hold only 25 percent of computing roles overall, according to the National Center for Women & Technology.
Over the next 10 years, jobs in computer and mathematics occupations are expected to grow by 13 percent, creating 600,000 jobs.
