XINUOS ANNOUNCES RELOCATION OF ITS OPERATIONS TO THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Xinuos™, is pleased to confirm today its move to the U.S. Virgin Islands. The move, which occurred on May 21, 2019, is part of the company’s ambitious plans to build upon the legacy of its three proprietary operating systems, OpenServer 5, OpenServer 6 and UnixWare 7, to grow through significant investment in new products and services, and to optimize the ways in which it continues to serve and service its current global customer base.
As part of its move, Xinuos is excited to announce formally that is has become a tenant of the University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park (“RTPark”). The RTPark program, established in 2002, is a partnership among the private sector, the government of the U.S. Virgin Islands and the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). The RTPark program’s goal is to attract knowledge-based businesses to the U.S. Virgin Islands, including businesses in the software development, software-as-a-service, telecommunication and information technology sectors.
Sean Snyder, Xinuos’ Chief Executive Officer, believes that Xinuos’ move will prove extremely beneficial to all the Xinuos stakeholders: “I am very pleased to confirm Xinuos’ move to the U.S. Virgin Islands and its acceptance into the University of the Virgin Islands’ RTPark program. This move represents an important next step in Xinuos’ ambitious plans to explore strategic opportunities while continuing to provide outstanding products and services to its current customer base. Given the historic ties between operating system development and universities, Xinuos looks forward to a close and mutually beneficial collaboration with the University of the Virgin Islands while also supporting the dynamic goals of the RTPark, such as the launch of its incubator program which we believe will further contribute to the development of a thriving technology sector that will positively impact the economic development of the U.S. Virgin Islands”.
Peter H. Chapman, Executive Director of UVI RTPark, stated “We enthusiastically welcome Xinuos to the RTPark Corporation family and to the USVI community on the whole. Their decision to relocate their operation to the Territory underscores the USVI’s advantages as a preferred destination and hub for rapidly expanding tech firms like Xinuos. We are further encouraged by the company’s commitment to working with the university and investing in key elements of the Territory’s tech ecosystem, which will help strengthen our overall economy. We look forward to working with Sean and team for many years to come.”
