Tim Reid Launches 'LGCY TV' in Caribbean through Partnership with Liberty Latin America and the UVI RTPark

ST. CROIX, USVI – Television Industry Icon and Filmmaker, Tim Reid, announces the launch of the "LGCY TV” Network exclusively in the Caribbean. Initially, the network will begin streaming on Liberty Latin America’s (Liberty) Flow Video Streaming and Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) Platform.

This significant development follows nearly a year of partnership between Tim and the UVI Research and Technology Park's (RTPark) through its inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, which played an integral role in facilitating the strategic launch of the "LGCY TV” Network within the Caribbean region through Liberty.

Tim declares, "Globally, Media is undergoing dramatic changes as it continues to expand and define the social andcultural perceptions of billions of people on a daily basis. I believe that in this atmosphere of media consumption there stands a critical need and opportunity for new strategies and models for those of us, 'storytellers' who passionately seek to tell diverse and culturally significant stories."

Throughout Tim's career, he has endeavored to create and explore a culturally unique view of people and events that mainstream media has often overlooked, stereotyped or forgotten. LGCY TV Network is intended to be an independent source of entertainment content that offers an historical and contemporary glimpse of a people who throughout history have labored, even when in chains, to build economic empires. A people who even when denied equality and justice; fought for the rights of others and changed the outcome of world wars. Despite learning in an inferioreducational system, they fueled scientific discoveries and even made it safe for the first man to land on the moon.

LGCY TV’s mission is to highlight and share the history, lifestyles and culture of the African Diaspora as they continueto play an essential role in shaping the destiny of mankind.

The RTPark is an innovative, internationally recognized, economic development organization designed to help diversify and expand the USVI economy through efforts to promote the attraction, retention and growth of technology, knowledge-based and sustainable agriculture firms within the territory. Through the Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program at the RTPark, Tim collaborates closely with the organization to enhance its role as a catalytic vehicle in stimulating the creative economy of the USVI and greater Caribbean. In addition to supporting the promotion of the USVI as an attractive location for creative economy enterprises to operate, Tim’s vast experience will support training local talent to access opportunities in the territory’s budding film and entertainment industry in collaboration with the University of the Virgin Islands and other relevant stakeholders.

Recognizing this announcement as a testament to the RTPark’s commitment to nurturing business development opportunities for its clients and partners, CEO Peter H. Chapman highlighted the pivotal role the RTPark played in connecting Tim with Liberty Latin America through the company's subsidiary, Liberty VI—a valued client of the RTPark.

"Our partnership with Tim Reid serves as a dynamic step toward greater alignment between us and with the broader film industry, effectively shining a spotlight on the USVI," highlighted Peter H.
